BEDŘICH - BEDŘICH

This work was inspired by the reliquary of St. Benedict, which is on display in the Benedictine monastery in Muri, Switzerland. The relics of Saint Benedict are individually decorated on velvet cushions placed in a display case on the side altar. In the middle of it is placed the skull of the saint, which is decorated with a quite distinctive metal crown.

This resembles the sun's rays that emanate from behind the skull. The distinctive crown with rays is also the main detail of this exhibit. The green crown and leaves connect the sun's rays with the nature motif. In conjunction with the skull as a symbol of the impermanence of life, they form a complex.
